Friends Without A Border was founded by Izu in 1996 to manage the project. With the help of an international board of healthcare professionals, the art community, and over 5,000 supporters worldwide, Friends opened Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC) in 1999.
Opened by Friends Without A Border with just an outpatient department, AHC has expanded to a full-service, internationally-recognized pediatric hospital, with services including: an Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Outreach program, Inpatient Department, Dental Clinic, Eye Clinic, Physiotherapy Department, Radiology Department, HIV/Homecare Program, Pharmacy, Laboratory, and Social Work Unit.
