New Hope for Cambodian Children
Siem Reap, Cambodia
New Hope for Cambodian Children adopts a multi-disciplinary approach for our work with HIV-infected children. The Home Based Care program provides social, medical and educational support to more than 1,260 infected children who are living with families in eight Cambodian provinces and in the city of Phnom Penh. Full-time holistic care for 220 orphans and abandoned children with HIV/AIDS is provided in our residential facility called Our Village, located outside Phnom Penh. NHCC also provides total support for another forty children in the New Hope Houses program. They are attending university or vocational school. NHCC pays their tuition and covers housing, food, medical, transportation and support staff costs. A supplemental program Quilters of Hope focuses on employing HIV-infected widows so they have an income with which to provide for their children who also have the HIV virus.
