Since its founding in 1875, Metropolitan Hospital Center has been affiliated with New York Medical College, representing the oldest American partnership between a hospital and a private medical school in the United States. The pediatric HIV program at Metropolitan Hospital Center has an extensive bilingual/bicultural team of health care professionals who specialize in infectious disease and immunology. This dedicated team consists of pediatricians, internists, nurses, a neurologist, a social worker, case managers, a play therapist, a family therapist and a phlebotomist.
