Queens Hospital Center is a NYC public hospital serving low income patients in the Jamaica community. The Pediatric Clinic serves children and families from birth to 21 years of age living at or below poverty level. Many of these children and families are faced with multiple medical problems, including HIV/AIDS, Sickle Cell Disease, Asthma and Neurological impairments. Many reside in single family households who have a history of homelessness and domestic violence. The primary goal of parents is to ensure their children are fed, clothed, sheltered and loved. Many can not afford the extra expense of a birthday or holiday gift.
